Daylight Savings Time. What are we saving?
Monday, March 11, 2013
When I was younger, I looooved Daylight savings time. It meant playing outside longer.
I did not really think about it again until I had my little Sam. He did not like to sleep late. Ever. Daylight savings time meant that his usual 6 a.m. (or earlier) wake up time was later. (at least for a while) This was amazing.
Now that I have a teenager who has to wake up at 5:30 a.m. to make it to high school, Daylight savings time seems like a cruel joke. No one in my house was tired last night and the boys were like zombies this morning. My son got to school and it was still dark!
The only saving grace is that this means that summer is right around the corner ...WOO HOO.

Arizona, Hawaii and some territories don't change to DST. Best idea ever.
The last year I lived California I never really got over the time change.
I love that Arizona doesn't change !
I have a super funny story about the one year it did change when I was a child and the screaming that was heard all over the state till we got to change back.
Nature knows what time it is and who are we to mess with it.
cheers, parsnip
Our critters have the right idea-run instinctively. This lose an hour is for the birds-well, not literally-they don't care.
Have a good week!
I know- I don't like the dark mornings either but I do like the thought of later sunsets- xo Diana
Japolina, It'll be almost 10 o'clock this summer and the sun will still be shining:):) I was a wee bit draggy myself this morning.:):)xoxo,Susie
Someone who did not have children invented DST. But I do appreciate a little sleeping in from the kiddos in the morning!
I get up crazy early, so I don't really mind. But oh did I hear others bitching....~Mary
