Boys getting axed...

Friday, March 1, 2013

I now live with two teenaged boys as my little baby boy turned 13 yesterday. One of the funny things that teenage boys do these days is called axing.

Axe is a stinky body spray. It comes in fragrances called Pulse, anarchy, phoenix and score. Boys think it is great because when they stink, they just mist it all over and they are magnets for teenaged girls. At least this is what boys think.

My boys love this stuff. It is about 5 bucks a can and I've been buying a lot of it. This phenomenon  is not limited to my home. My mom friends report similar patterns in their homes.

On Modern Family on Wednesday, middle school character Luke gets ready for a date in a similar fashion.  It's about 1 minute 20 seconds in. It cracked me up. The writers must live with teenaged boys!

I know adult men who use the whole deal-shower etc
That is one strong cologne!
Happy belated birthday to your young man!

What a hoot....

I have read some school have banned the students from wearing it. Seems they were not showering and spraying so much of this stuff on them that kids were passing out and getting sick at school !

Good Luck ! Some days it is good to have way older children ! LOL

cheers, parsnip

Bahaha...oh, Axe. My younger brother is more of an Old Spice, but he used to absolutely douse himself in the body spray until you could smell nothing but Old Spice fumes throughout the whole house. Also, I was a camp counselor for four summers, and you could always tells which cabins were housing teenage boys for the week, because when you walked by the door, an overwhelming odor would waft out - usually a mix of Old Spice, Axe, etc. etc. Ridiculous. I got a good chuckle out of that scene on Modern Family too =]
